Ballet BC Audition (Vancouver)

Ballet BC is seeking artists for its 2023/24 season! Registration is now open for auditions in Vancouver, New York City, and Paris.

For the 2023-2024 Season, Ballet BC is looking for:

1. Full-Time Artists: Ballet BC is seeking experienced dancers interested in a collaborative contemporary dance environment. Artists should possess both classical and contemporary training.

2. Emerging Artist Positions: Ballet BC is looking for graduates who have completed a professional training program to join the Ballet BC Emerging Artists Program. The program will take place during the company season (summer 2023 to summer 2024) and will provide Emerging Artists with a weekly salary.

It’s free to audition, register via the link below. Auditions will consist of ballet class and company repertoire. Pre-registration for auditions at all locations is mandatory.

• Video link (This should be an unlisted youtube or vimeo link). Video submissions should be no longer than 10 minutes and include the following components: 1. Ballet class (4-5 minutes): adage, pirouettes, petit allegro, grand allegro 2. Solo of artist’s choice 3. Improvisation

Additional Information:

Audition Requirements: The audition will consist of ballet class and learning of company repertoire. Artists should bring their CV and two photos (one head shot and one full-body, marked with dancer's name). Artists will need to have prepared a 2-3 minute solo, and will need to have their music downloaded to their device. Successful applicants will be contacted after the final audition date, and dancer contracts will commence in July/August 2023. Ballet BC will provide work permit/visa support to work in Canada if required.
