Ballet Opera de Lyon Audition

The Opéra national de Lyon is a center of excellence, creation, production and training in the lyrical, choreographic and musical fields. Aiming to be among the great opera houses in France and Europe, since January 1, 1996 it has benefited from the label of National Opera granted by the Ministry of Culture. The Opéra national de Lyon has permanent artistic forces: ballet, orchestra, choir, masters.

The Ballet of the National Opera of Lyon is made up of 30 dancers. They work in various choreographic languages ​​on a daily basis and thus perform pieces from the repertoire as well as creations, in Lyon and on stages around the world.

Today, the ballet of the Opéra national de Lyon is recruiting dancers. These artists must have benefited from excellent training in the classical academic language, mastery of the technique of points being appreciated, and confirmed professional experience. They will be distinguished by their excellent technical level in both classical and contemporary dance as well as by their great disposition for improvisation. These artists will notably perform pieces by choreographers such as William Forsythe, Merce Cunningham, Marcos Morau, Christos Papadopoulos, Lucinda Childs, Alessandro Sciarroni and Marlène Monteiro Freitas.
