Brecon Festival Ballet Audition

Brecon Festival Ballet (www.breconfestivalballet.com) is looking for male dancers to dance the roles of Cavalier, Nutcracker/Nathaniel and King Rat/Arabian for their full-scale production of “The Nutcracker”, accompanied by Welsh Chamber Orchestra

In 2019 Brecon Festival Ballet presented the first ever full-scale production of The Nutcracker to be created in Wales. Post-Covid, we’re delighted to revive this production and work with the wonderful Welsh Chamber Orchestra, who will accompany the ballet live at Brecon’s Theatr Brycheiniog. There will be an onstage cast of approximately 80 dancers, with professional dancers in principal and soloist roles, full-time dance students and apprentices in the corps de ballet and local young ballet students in the children’s roles. 5 performances in December with rehearsals October 29th – November 2nd and production week 10th – 18th December. Accommodation provided.

Dancers Sought:

Requirements:

• Cavalier:
• must have excellent classical technique and partnering
• minimum height 180cm
• Nathaniel/Nutcracker:
• must have excellent classical technique and partnering
• ideal height 175 – 180cm
• King Rat/ Arabian:
• must have strong classical and contemporary technique, floorwork and tumbling would be an asset
