Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet Audition (Middletown)

Ekklesia is seeking strong, professional-level male and female dancers for the 2025-2026 season.  Start Date is Saturday, August 9th, 2025.

Contract is for 34 weeks.

 

WE ARE SEEKING:

​To fulfill part-time Company Dancer contracts as well as additional Trainee/Apprentice contracts, we encourage dancers of any gender and background to audition.
Technically skillful dancers in both classical ballet and contemporary dance, with strong versatility, musicality, and stage presence.
Collaborative dancers who want to discuss the meaning behind their work and how it applies to social change and theological study.
Creative improvisors with ample experience in contemporary partnering.
Mature, open-minded, and motivated individuals with a drive for artistic and personal growth.

Dancers must have a U.S. Passport and be legally authorized to work in the United States. All rehearsals will take place in Middletown, CT.

 

 

POSITION DETAILS

Both Company Artist and Trainee contracts will be from August 2025 through June 2026.  Start Date is Saturday, August 2nd, 2025.  Contract is for 32 weeks.  Both Company Dancers and Trainees rehearse approximately 11.5 hours/week for approximately 34 weeks/year. Company Dancers are paid a stipend for rehearsals and receive a $100+ stipend per performance.  Company dancers receive a shoe allowance and travel reimbursement when touring. When the Company tours, both Company Members and Trainees receive per diem. The Company is not a union company.  Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Additional Information:

Where: Ekklesia Studios 381 Main St. Middletown, CT When: Tuesday, March 11th OR Tuesday, April 8th Our studio auditions will consist of company class from 10:45 - 12:15pm followed by an observation of company rehearsal. Dancers may be asked to an interview after class with the Artistic Director. Dancers should bring a hard copy of headshot and resume to the audition
