Mexico National Dance Company

The Secretaría de Cultura and the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura, through the Compañía Nacional de Danza de México, calls national and internationals dancers to participate in the auditions that will take place on october 16, in order to incorporate 4 professionals dancers.

1 soloist contract (man)

Gross monthly salary dancer “A” (corp de ballet) $ 36,357.94 MXN
Gross monthly salary soloist “B” $ 41,351.34 MXN All contracts will be for six months (subject to renewal).

1. Registration of applicants
Male and female ballet professionals of any nationality who wish to join the CNDMx may register as of the publication of this call for applications and will remain open until september 24, sunday, 2023.

2. General requirements
2.1 Advanced studies in classical dance
2.2 Fill in the online audition form http://bit.ly/Formulario CND
2.3 Full-length colour photograph with hair tied back, natural make-up, clearly showing the face in dance costume
2.4 Curriculum Vitae with documented pictures
2.5 Video no more than six months old, taken during a performance or rehearsal of a ballet variation, with a maximum duration of 2 minutes (include a link to the video, .mp4, .mov, etc. files will NOT be accepted).

Requirements for Mexican nationality:

Official ID (INE or passport)
• Men: National military service card with release form for those over 18 years of age and national military service card for those 18 years of age or younger at the date of the audition.

Requirements for foreign nationalities:

• Valid passport

The artistic direction of the Company, based on the information provided, will evaluate technical and artistic aspects.
The direction will evaluate the relevance of the contract based on the fulfilment of point two of this call for applications.
The dancers whose evaluation is approved will be informed by e-mail on october 9, monday at 11 h with an invitation to participate in the auditions on october, 16 th, monday, 2023.

3. Audition
The auditions will take place on october 16 th, monday, 2023 at 15 h (local Mexico time) at the National Dance Company’s facilities located at: Plaza Ángel Salas s/n, colonia Chapultepec, Polanco, Miguel Hidalgo, P.C. 11560 Mexico City (behind the National Auditorium, in front of Campo Marte).

The audition consists of:

3.1 Ballet technique class 3.2 Pas de deux
3.3 A choreographer invited by the CNDMx will create a dance sequence that the dancers will have to perform.

The selected dancers will be required to bring ballet clothes.

4. The jury

Composed of the audition commission, which is made up of:

Presidency. Artistic Direction of the CNDMx, who will have the casting vote in case of a tie. Technical Secretary. In charge of the head of the CNDMX staff, who will have neither voice nor vote.

Body of members. Composed of the régisseuse, teachers, prima ballerinas and two well-known personalities in the field of ballet appointed by the CNDMX’s artistic direction.

Their decision is unappealable.

5. Results

The results with the names of the accepted applicants will be published on october 30 th, monday, 2023 on the website: http://www.inba.gob.mx/convocatorias as well as on the CNDMX’s official website and social networks.

The company’s direction will contact the selected dancers to start the hiring process, which will take effect as of january 1st, monday, 2024.*

*In case of being foreigner, it will depend on the inmigration procedures that are carried out at the National Institute of Migration.

Cases not foreseen in this call will be resolved by the artistic direction of the CNDMX.
