Boston Ballet Audition
Boston Ballet is a professional classical ballet company presenting a diverse range of classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire. We explore what it means to be the ballet company of the future. We are an AGMA company with a guaranteed 40 week-per-year minimum contract.
Requirements:
- Excellent classical ballet technique
Required documents:
- A video with no introduction or fancy editing, consisting of the following performed in leotard and tights for women and tight-fitting dance attire for men. NOTE: All required videos should be danced on pointe if you are trained in pointe work and wish to be considered for repertoire performed on pointe.
- A short classical variation drawn from the standard repertoire
- A short contemporary variation (for example – something drawn from repertoire, phrases from classwork or a self-created work) that demonstrates movement qualities that are different from the classical variation. Contemporary variation may be in any footwear you choose.
- 3-5 minutes of barre work, incorporating exercises to both the right and left sides
- 3-5 minutes of center work that includes adagio, pirouettes, petit and grand allegro
