The Greek National Opera Ballet Audition

The Greek National Opera is pleased to announce an audition for both male and female dancers for “Coppélia” which will be performed in the period 19 March to 19 May 2024.

Interested parties can obtain the application form and consent form from the G.N.O’s official website (www.nationalopera.gr). The consent form must be filled out by interested parties after they have read the G.N.O’s CV Policy.

Dancers born between 1.1.1991 and 31.12.2003 are eligible to submit an application to participate in the audition.

Note that applications sent late after 8.2.2024 and/or which do not include any of the above supporting documents will not be accepted. The G.N.O undertakes to ensure that the personal data of applicants is kept strictly confidential. Only the persons within the G.N.O who are authorised to do so –and no third party– will have access to the applications.

Evaluation of the supporting documents and selection for the audition will be made by the G.N.O Ballet Director and one assistant choreographer from the G.N.O Ballet Company. Following that, no later than 12.2.2024 all candidates who submitted an application will be notified by email about whether or not they will participate in the audition. All participants invited to participate in the audition will receive an email with an invitation to participate in the audition and the audition schedule.

The audition will take place in front of the GNO’s Ballet Director and the Choreographer of the production ‘Coppélia’ on 13 February at the GNO’s studios at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (364 Syngrou Ave., GR-17674).

Dancers invited to participate in the audition will be taught a specific piece of modern choreography by the choreographer of the production “Coppélia” and/or his associate.

Dancers will need comfortable clothes and rehearsal shoes.

The auditions may be recorded to video for archival purposes.
The dancers selected will be employed by the Greek National Opera for the period 19 March to 19 May 2024.

Note that the Greek National Opera reserves the right not to select any of the dancers who take part in the said audition for the production ‘Coppélia’, and to announce a new audition for the same production at any subsequent time.

The names of dancers participating in the production ‘Coppélia’ will be announced on the G.N.O’s official website.
