The Polish National Opera is a performing arts institution based at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw, Poland. The organisation produces and performs opera and ballet productions. The original institution began operating in 1833. Today, the company includes the main opera ensemble, a choir, an orchestra, and the Polish National Ballet.
The company stages classical and contemporary works. Its regular repertoire features international operas and ballets, as well as traditional Polish compositions by creators such as Stanislaw Moniuszko. The institution organises performances throughout the year in its home city and travels for touring productions in other countries.
