A class specifically designed for those who those who are preparing for pointe work, completely new to Pointe work or keen to keep working on foundational pointe technique. Start or progress your pointe work in an appropriately paced class. A key focus of these lessons is helping dancers to identify their personal development areas, manage their hypermobility and prevent injury.

Lessons will begin with pre-pointe exercises which develop ankle strength, stability and establish correct placement. The pointe exercises will predominantly focus on warm-up exercises and beginner barre work. We will gradually progress to basic centre exercises. Exercises can always be modified or adapted to suit different levels of experience.

[Please note, participants should have been taking ballet for a minimum of a year, have an active weekly ballet practice and should seek teacher approval to attend this class. Pointe shoes should have been professionally fitted, though are not a pre-requisite for attendance].
