Alegria Club is a performing arts organization founded in 2011 by Ruxandra Chelaru (Miss Sandra), an actress and choreographer. Miss Sandra holds Qualified Teacher Status, a Master’s Degree in Dance – Choreographic Art, a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting – Performing Arts, an IDTA teaching qualification in Ballet, and a British Gymnastics teaching qualification. She has worked with dance organizations in London, including the Royal Academy of Dance.
The club offers ballet, modern dance, floor gymnastics, guitar, musical theatre, singing, and acting. Classes are available for children ages 3 and up, with some sessions for mixed ages 4+. Ballet classes focus on grace, flexibility, balance, discipline, and coordination. Modern dance develops fitness, rhythm, and team spirit. Floor gymnastics builds muscular strength, flexibility, body alignment, and stamina. Musical theatre and guitar aim to develop imagination, artistic skills, and confidence.
Classes are held in person at two locations in Harrow and online via Zoom. The club also offers one-to-one home tuition, personalized sessions for mainstream and SEND children, and party services. Prospective students can attend a trial session.
