Liz Burville Performing Arts Limited has been training children and young people in Bexley for over 30 years. The school started with fewer than 30 pupils and later grew to over 200 students. Founded by teacher, choreographer, and ISTD and Trinity Guildhall Examiner Liz Burville, the school is now run by directors Angela Stokes, Julia Pritchett, and Stuart Gain following Burville’s death in 2018.
The school teaches dance, musical theatre, drama, and singing from its fully equipped studios at Bexley Cricket Ground. Dance classes include ballet using ISTD Modern Theatre Dance Branch syllabi for modern classes, tap, contemporary, street, hip-hop, jazz, and commercial dance. Ballet is offered from Pre-Primary through Advanced 1 level, while tap ranges from Tots through Grade 3. The school also teaches acrobatic work using the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Classes serve children from age 3 through young adults, including Pop Tots for ages 3-5 and adult dance sessions.
Drama is divided into three age groups and covers mime, characterisation, script work, and improvisation. Musical theatre classes combine singing, acting, and dance using songs from productions including Les Misérables, Hamilton, and The Waitress. Students can audition for performance teams and take ISTD examinations.

Modern classes follow the ISTD Modern Theatre Dance Branch syllabi, which include limbering exercises, isolation work, arm sequences, travelling, dance movement sequences, jazz amalgamations, and a dance. The Acrobatic Arts syllabus is used for acrobatic progressions, based on safe and effective progressions that develop flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling. Ballet classes use expressive movement and mime to lyrical and classical music to build foundation skills for strong ballet technique and musicality.
The school provides various opportunities throughout the year for learners to achieve and perform. Performance teams are available by audition, and parents are encouraged to attend watching weeks. The school won the IFDPA Paris 2017 Musical Theatre Grand Champions 2017 Title.
