Passion & Technique School of Ballet is directed by Maria Celano, an Affiliate Teacher of The Royal Ballet School. The school provides classical ballet training for students from age 2½ through adults at two locations in Kingston upon Thames. Its programme is centered in the ethos of The Royal Ballet School and incorporates classical schemes of Cecchetti and Vaganova methods.
Classes include Pre-School Ballet (ages 2½ to 4), Pre-Primary Ballet, and Levels 1 through 3, which develop core classical ballet vocabulary through traditional sequences of barre, centre, and allegro exercises taught in French terminology. Levels 4 through 6 are currently in preparation. Adult classes focus on classical technique, barre work, centre practice, and stretching. Private one-to-one lessons are available.
The school offers the ATAP programme, a pathway for students seeking formal ballet education with assessment and certification by The Royal Ballet School. This programme follows The Royal Ballet School’s Model for Optimal Dance Training and includes body awareness, ballet vocabulary, creative practice, and repertoire study. End-of-year examinations will be introduced from the 2024–2025 academic year for ATAP students.
