Rise School of Dance was established in 2021 and was previously known as Instep School of Ballet. The school offers classes in ballet, modern dance, contemporary, jazz and tap for students of all ages and abilities. Classes are available for those dancing for fun or exercise, as well as for students working toward advancement. The school provides graded and vocational training, private lessons, and adult ballet classes.
The school offers examinations through the Royal Academy of Dance for ballet and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance for modern. Classes range from Pre-School level through Advanced 2, with exam preparation sessions available. The principal is Joana Veloso, who trained in Portugal and holds RAD Registered Teacher and AISTD Teacher status. Additional staff includes Francesca Doré, who earned a First-Class BA (Hons) Ballet Education degree from the RAD and holds the Licentiate qualification, along with other qualified and trainee teachers.
