The Moravian-Silesian National Theatre is a professional theatre company based in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Founded in 1919, it is the largest performing arts organisation in the region. The company creates and presents productions through four separate artistic departments: opera, drama, ballet, and musical theatre.
The company performs both classical pieces and modern works. It stages several new productions each season and holds regular performances for the public. The different departments perform mainly at the Antonin Dvorak Theatre and the Jiri Myron Theatre in Ostrava.
The organisation also takes part in local and international cultural events, including the New Opera Days Ostrava festival. In addition to its main stage productions, it runs educational programmes for the public.
