Soul of Classical Ballet / Ukrainian Ballet of Peace

Soul of Classical Ballet, also known as Ukrainian Ballet of Peace and Ukrainian Ballet of Odessa, is a classical ballet company founded in 2006 in Odessa by choreographer Vladimir Troshchenko. The company presents itself as continuing the standards of the classical Ukrainian ballet school. Its formation followed an invitation to perform Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” in major theaters across the United States. The company has toured internationally throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, performing in countries including Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United States.

The repertoire includes “Swan Lake,” “The Nutcracker,” “The Sleeping Beauty,” and “Carmen Suite,” drawing on choreography by Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov, and Alberto Alonso. Vladimir Troshchenko, who graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Dance in 1973 and later earned a degree from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts, served as Artistic Director until his death in 2021. Aleksandra Fedorina, who graduated from the Odessa City Ballet School in 1981 and earned a Master of Choreography degree in 2021, became Artistic Director following Troshchenko’s passing.
