Southern Ballet Company Audition

Balletto del Sud is seeking dancers with classical training and a flair for modern movement.

Pointe shoes are mandatory for ballerinas.

Applicants must present a variation of classical repertoire.

The audition allows for inclusion in the Balletto del Sud ranking valid for the 2026/2027 season.
Next working period: October 2026 – August 2027 (quarterly contracts)

How it works:

The audition is divided into 5 phases:
1) barre – 2) center – 3) pointe – 4) variations -5) company choreography (if necessary).

At the end of each phase, the numbers of eliminated candidates are announced (NOTE: there may be multiple eliminations during phases 1 and 2).
The audition lasts 3 to 6 hours (depending on the number of participants).

The variation presented must be chosen from the classical repertoire (bring music on digital media)

Phase 5 consists of a group choreography, from the company’s repertoire, taught in the studio.

The ranking is valid for one year until August 2027

Dancers will be invited based on their ranking or choreographic requirements.
If a dancer has previously been selected and has not been invited, they must audition again.
Dancers who have collaborated with the company but have not participated in all of its productions that year are also required to audition again, with the exception of those who collaborated with Balletto del Sud for the summer season.
Dancers who have participated in some of the company’s productions through direct selection but have never auditioned are also required to audition.
The company may replace certain permanent members with dancers from the new ranking.
