Klaipėda State Music Theatre Ballet Audition

The Klaipėda State Music Theatre (KSMT), Lithuania, is looking for professional male dancers to collaborate with the ballet company for participating in theatre new upcoming dance productions to be mounted during the season 2022/2023 and other dance performances, operas, musicals and for children performances shown during the season and beyond. The company has a principal focus on new creation. Therefore, dancers must be flexible and able to adapt to new and varied choreography.

The selected candidates will have an opportunity to participate in the production of a triple bill of dance performances Donna Quixote choreographed by Gaj Žmavc (Slovenia) and two young choreographers from the Klaipėda ballet company – Daria Verovka and Yan Malaki (premiere slated for November 2022) and in the KSMT’s production of Alexander Ekman’s Cacti (premiere slated for March 2023). Among earlier dance productions to be included in the season’s regular repertoire are Edward Clug’s Stabat Mater / The Rite of Spring, Robert Bondara’s Faust, Kirill Simonov’s Romeo and Juliet and The Nutcracker, Martynas Rimeikis’ Eglė, Queen of the Grass Snakes and other. In addition to dance performances, members of the ballet company are also sometimes required to take part in the theatre’s productions of operas, musicals, and performances for children.

Duration of employment: optional contract of 1 or 2 years.
